Yury joined Umeå University after completing his PhD at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Australia with Boris Martinac, and postdoc at Yale University in the US with Slav Bagriantsev. 

Two sister interns: Louise’s nose is light, Doonise’s is dark—hence their names.
