Welcome to the Sensory Mechanobiology Lab
Every animal experiences the world in its own way, shaped by how it senses and interacts with its environment. Our lab investigates how different vertebrates detect and process mechanical signals — from molecules, cells, and ion channels to specialized sensory endings. We use comparative, molecular, and functional approaches to understand how touch works across species, especially in non-standard model organisms. Inspired by the incredible diversity of life, we aim to uncover the core principles that shape mechanosensory systems and how they develop, adapt, and regenerate.
